The first veterinary licensed tramadol

The only veterinary licensed tramadol to have accurate dosing for patients as small as 1.25kg.

Tralieve is an atypical opioid with a dual mechanism of action. It has both mu-opioid effects and effects on pain modulation via action on descending pain pathways. It is indicated for the reduction of acute and chronic mild soft tissue pain (tablets) or for reduction of mild post-operative pain (injection).

How does it work?

Neuropathic pain can be particularly difficult to treat. Tralieve acts on descending pain pathways involved in modulation of neuropathic pain and has been shown to be an effective treatment for neuropathic pain in humans.

Tralieve is metabolised into several different metabolites. The metabolites with the most analgesic activity is M1, which is 2-4 times more potent than tramadol itself.

Every animal is unique and Tralieve metabolism will vary between individuals. It is therefore important to use appropriate pain scoring methods to ensure sufficient analgesia is provided.

Additional analgesia can be achieved by increasing the Tralieve dose until the maximum daily dose is reached or by following a multi-modal analgesic approach with the addition of other suitable analgesics.

Individual results are variable so you should monitor response carefully.
